Traditionally, the heath can be seen at its best in late summer from mid-August to late-September when it is usually in full bloom. Some 'heath specialists', however, prefer springtime or autumn when the yellow gleam of rape fields or the bright colours of leaves create an atmosphere of serenity.
Diversity is the trump card of the 'Lüneburg Heath'. There is so much more to enjoy than just watching the German moorland sheep and the Heath is looked upon as a perfect example of an idyllic vacation area. The region offers biking, hiking, horse-riding, watersports and golfing opportunities and its long history can be seen and learned about in the various castles, villages, museums and even traditional dishes.
You might fall in love with the 'Lüneburg Heath' and you will be happy that you did not miss the chance to get to know such an idyllic, diverse and interesting part of the world
