C-B-R 2005 offers leisure ideas you´ll love
'Leisure ideas you´ll love' is the motto of C-B-R 2005, which takes place from Saturday, 19 February to Wednesday, 23 February 2005 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
This 36th Caravanning–Water Sports–Tourism Exhibition is one of the leading public trade fairs for leisure and tourism in southern Germany.
At C-B-R visitors can have a foretaste of that lovely holiday feeling, as they review the wide range of offers presented by the exhibitors, and enjoy a superlative accompanying programme of events.
All of which promises well for the leisure and holiday fair C-B-R, which will be featuring over 1,200 exhibitors from 65 nations and a display of attractive offers and holiday and travel ideas in caravanning, water sports and tourism.
Wide spectrum of offers
Visitors to the popular leisure fair C-B-R 2005 (19 to 23 February 2005) can look forward to a five-day presentation of lots of interesting new offers in all three areas.
The products exhibited in the caravanning section include caravans, tents and folding caravans, motorhomes, pick-up systems, camping buses and recreational vehicles, as well as camping accessories and information, and details about campsites.
Just as diverse is the range on show in the watersports section: electrically powered boats, engines, boating equipment, technical accessories, boating instruments, waterski equipment, watersports clothing, surfing, diving, canoeing, kayaking, boat charter, sailing schools and class associations.
Travel buffs who want to find out about the latest trends in tourism will not be disappointed at C-B-R 2005. Tourism associations, hotel and club complexes, travel agencies, tour operators and specialist travel companies will be presenting an extensive portfolio of travel and leisure offers.
Very much in fashion are wellness holidays, city and cultural breaks, cruises and travel to far-off places. But there will also be an extensive presentation of leisure and travel opportunities in the Germans' number one holiday destination, Germany itself.
Visitor-friendly layout
The products and sections are divided up between the halls in a way that creates synergies for exhibitors and visitors. Hall B6 is for watersports, Halls A6, A5 and B5 for tourism, and Halls A4 and B4 is for caravanning fans.
In the tourism hall A5, the long-distance destinations dominate, in Hall B5, the Mediterranean countries, and in Hall A6, the Alpine regions and the German destinations will be putting on a presentation.
With the aim of interlinking the leisure pursuits with corresponding attractive holiday offers, the sections on canoeing and diving are integrated into the tourism section. Canoeing and kayaking are therefore placed in Hall A6 and diving near to the section on the Mediterranean countries.Events and highlights for young and old
One aspect of C-B-R which many eagerly look forward to is the events programme, which includes, for example, the events held on the grand multimedia tourism show stage, set up in the tourism section in Hall A5 by the Bavarian Broadcasting Association in conjunction with Messe München.
In addition, at C-B-R 2005, there will again be an outdoor area with climbing wall in Hall A6, which is being organised jointly by Messe München, the German Alpine Club and media partners.
In Hall A6, in line with the themes of the Alpine regions and German destinations, there will be a canoeing experience area, which is a joint project by KANUmagazin and renowned manufacturers. This is the place to see expert canoeists do their thing. There´s something here for every visitor – whether canoe-trekking, spectacular wildwater canoeing or exciting competitions.
Demonstrations are to be held in a pool and visitors will also have the chance to get into a canoe on water, to see what it feels like. For the 50+ age group, KANUmagazin is planning a special information event on the subject of 'Canoeing for the older age group'.
Trade programme for tourism professionals and watersports fans
For trade visitors, on Tuesday, 22 February, there is a special Tourism Day.
On that day, all trade visitors are entitled to preferential tickets for the fair (3 euros, only available at the special counter in the EAST entrance).
Two events on this day are of particular interest: on the one hand, a Tourism Symposium, which is now taking place at C-B-R for the eighth time. Its theme in 2005 is 'New ideas in cultural and urban tourism – culture, leisure and entertainment in the 21st century'. Also, taking place in the morning, is a workshop on 'Holidays on water: close-up on cruises'.
International tourism professionals are invited to this workshop to talk about this theme and discuss it with trade visitors. PATA, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, will again be organising a seminar for travel sales professionals during C-B-R.
More visitor-friendly opening times
For five days visitors can come along and gather information, discover lots of new things and have a go at the prize competitions. To help visitors get the most out of the fair, and attend the many events, the opening times have been changed.
From the Saturday (19 February 2005) to the Tuesday (22 February 2005), C-B-R is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the Wednesday (23 February 2005), the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A popular option is the attractive 'four-o´clock ticket', which is available from Saturday to Tuesday, after 4 p.m., for a price of just 5 euros. A standard-price ticket costs 9 euros.
